African Biofortified Sorghum Project, a CSR Program by DuPont

DuPont, partnered with Africa Harvest Biotech Foundation International, aims to improve the nutritional value of sorghum, Africa's dietary staple. More than half a billion people consume this poor-quality grain as a main source of nutrition. This food can result in problems associated with malnutrition, especially in children located in arid regions of Africa and Asia. The project seeks to provide a long-term solution by creating a “super Sorghum” that grows well in harsh climate but contains high levels of essential nutrients, such as lysine and Vitamins A and E.
