Aisin Corporate Citizenship Sports Activities, a CSR Program by AISIN SEIKI Co., Ltd.

AISIN has many corporate citizenship activities, but one major area the company focuses on is sports. One program is that AISIN owns the AISIN Sea Horses, a Japanese Basketball League (JBL) team. This team has won the JBL championship three times and has won the Emperor’s Cup five times. The AISIN Cup is sponsored by the company each year. The tournament is for junior high school pupils all over Japan to compete at basketball to win basketball tuition. They company tires to “facilitate harmonious coexistence with the local community and society” through sports, the web site says.
Another program is the Aisin Seiki Sumo Club, which was formed sixty years ago. The club has won the All Japan Corporate Sumo Tournament three times and has also won the National Athletics Meet four times. The team has also traveled spreading the sport of sumo wrestling. The club regularly brings in locally based foreign students in Japan to let them experience the chanko cuisine, which is the diet of the sumo wrestlers.
Overall, AISIN uses sports to interact with the local community as well as to educate and interact with local youth.
