Aker Solutions and Red Cross Team Up, a CSR Program by Aker ASA

Aker Solutions, a division of Aker ASA, has teamed up with the Red Cross in a global partnership agreement. This agreement, which was signed in 2007, lasts for three years and includes knowledge sharing among employees, financial support, volunteering and many other services. To explain the partnership and Aker’s corporate responsibility commitments, representatives from the Norwegian Red Cross and Aker Solutions traveled to different sites and gave presentations. Employees were also presented with the chance to volunteer at local Red Cross branches. Aker specifically supports the Red Cross’s emergency relief, disaster preparation, and children’s initiatives. Leif Haukom, President of the Aker Solutions subsidiary, Aker Pusnes AS, donated a check for 30,000 Norwegian Kroners and stated that, “It’s a good way to connect our people and our company with the local community and to show our corporate responsibility.”
