American Airlines and Water Conservation, a CSR Program by American Airlines, Inc.

Recently, American Airlines established a new, state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant in Tulsa Oklahoma. The plant separates organic and inorganic contaminants from water at a rate of 500 gallons per minute. The clean and treated water then flows into a public sanitary sewer system, eliminating the need for deep-well injection. American Airlines operates another major maintenance facility at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. Water is recycled and then treated from aircraft wastewater and wash to irrigate landscape in it location.
