Amey's Light Enhancement, a CSR Program by Amey PLC

Amey is responsible for maintaining the UK’s Wakefield districts 41,000 lighting columns on streets and highways within the community. Amey enforced a program to replace 28,000 old concrete lighting columns with modern steel lighting columns and white lights over the first five years. This program was partnered with Wakefield Council’s, and was a part of the Council’s commitment to create safer and stronger communities. The replacement of the street lights and lighting columns was made to create a safer district and an attractive environment. This was two of the Council’s priorities.
