Chura Community: Tissue Culture Banana Project, a CSR Program by DuPont

This initiative developed by Pioneer, a DuPont Company which manufactures agricultural seeds such as hybrid corn, works to increase production of bananas, an important crop to Kenya. DuPont supported by Africa Harvest, an African NGO, hopes to improve the agricultural challenges to this produce. This program has influenced farmers so much it has increased incomes, alleviate hunger and poverty and develop agri-based businesses in surrounding areas. This project educated famers on the use of clean planting materials such as tissue culture propagation. The plan has improved farmer’s market opportunities to develop close and new channels.
