Citi Rainforest Alliance, a CSR Program by Citigroup Inc.

"In 2007, the Citi Foundation granted $200,000 to the Rainforest Alliance to build the capacity of small and growing businesses and communities to engage in economic activities that are socially and environmentally sustainable. Citi Foundation funds supported work in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru with a focus on tourism, forestry and carbon projects through this initiative. In 2006, Citi Foundation funds were used to train over 300 participants in business skills for tourism in addition to increasing outreach and participation from Brazil, Chile and Colombia in the Sustainable Tourism Certification Network of the Americas. Under its sustainable forestry program, Rainforest Alliance connected new buyers to certified small and medium-sized enterprises and trained 240 people in Guatemala and Honduras in certification of timber and non-timber forest products."
