Fleet Renewal, a CSR Program by Air France-KLM Group

"By renewing their fleets, airlines can operate the most efficient aircraft. Latest generation aircraft generate around 20 dB less noise at source at take-off and landing than aircraft operated 40 years ago. They also generate 7dB less than those operated 20 years ago (a "cumulative" total of 20dB). As at 31 March 2007, the average age of the Air France fleet was 8.8 years. The company has one of the airline industry’s youngest fleets of the same size. Hnce, the company has a fleet renewal system that continually updates its fleet in order to keep noise emissions down."
