Gender Equality, a CSR Program by Air France-KLM Group

"In 2001, the May 9 Act supplemented and strengthened an earlier act by making gender equality in the workplace a principle of internal corporate organization. Under the Act, it became compulsory to present an annual report to the trade unions on the comparative situations of male and female staff. The Act of December 30, 2004, strengthened the provision for equal opportunity and anti-discrimination measures. The Act of March 23, 2006, deals with equal pay. Air France embarked on a deliberate policy designed to promote gender equality in the workplace by signing a first agreement in 2002, which was renewed in 2006 for another three years. The expanded agreement reflects the company's political will in an environment where old stereotypes, the gender orientation of some professions and family constraints still persist. Seven core objectives have been defined in the framework of the agreement on gender equality in the workplace. These have translated into a total of over 60 initiatives, and indicators have been developed to monitor change."
