Fluor's commitment to sustainability includes the company's efforts to support health, safety, and the environment.

Fluor continues to believe that its Zero Initiative is an attainable objective. It is because of this initiative that Flour received several awards and safety certificates in 2008. To ensure a safe environment each day, the company instills HSE discipline and urgency at the job sites and offices by continually raising the bar for the company and its contractors.

Fluor is also concerned about environmental issues concerning the company's carbon footprint and ways to minimize its environmental impacts. To reduce Fluor's carbon footprint, the company has created an annual data collection methodology system to measure, monitor, and manage of corporate emissions and the company will continue to track emissions annually. From these emissions results, Fluor has been to enact strategies to minimizing its carbon footprint.
