"The company continued its active participation in public benefit activities and poverty alleviation and disaster relief endeavors in 2007, in return for all support and help from the public. Since 2004, Sinopec Corp. has made a total of RMB 61.80 million donation to the Chinese Foundation for Health Express, helping cure 9,105 cataract patients in Kashi and Kuitun in Xinjiang, Jiuquan in Gansu, Yuxi in Yunnan, Hailaer in Inner Mongolia, Ping'anyi in Qinghai, Neijiang in Sichuan, Naqu in Tibet, and Xingyi in Guizhou. The Company also sponsored the establishment of a micro ophthalmic surgical-training centre and the manufacturing of a new Health Express train. The Company also sponsored the establishment of Health Express-Sinopec micro ophthalmic surgical-training centre in the People's Hospital in Urumqi, Xinjiang." -CSR Poverty Relief webpage
