Reduced Volatile Organic Compound Emissions, a CSR Program by Air France-KLM Group
"Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) are generated by hydrocarbons and solvents, notably those used in paints and paint strippers. Over the past three years, emissions of volatile organic compounds have been cut by almost 50 percent going beyond Air France's regulatory obligations in this area. This was achieved through systematically reviewing activities using paint and solvents in order to better control all processes, from supplies to waste elimination, and by selecting low-VOC products wherever possible. Air France has also been using paints with low VOC content for several years. Research is currently underway to assess the potential of entirely VOC-free paints. Air France Industries is also encouraging the use of pre-impregnated wipes containing minimum amounts of VOCs for stripping and degreasing tasks, substantially reducing solvent consumption in recent years."
