Mit einem Pilotprojekt in Kenia hat OSRAM ein weltweit einzigartiges Programm für eine umweltschonende Lichtversorgung ohne Stromnetze gestartet. An einer eigens dafür gebauten Energiestation können die Anwohner Akkus für energiesparende Lampen und andere Elektrogeräte preisgünstig aufladen. Beim Mitarbeiterwettbewerb für Corporate Responsibility 2008 schaffte es dieses Projekt unter die drei Finalisten.
